Wife and I are researching a good suburb of okc to make a permanent home. Currently, we live in Ft Smith, AR but have been to Tulsa/OKC several times on day trips with the kids and love it! We have four kids and when we move our kids will be 10,6,5, and 3.

My question is more along the lines of those with personal experience in this area. What suburbs or public school systems offer different options for after school care, or have used any facilities such as a boys/girls club or Ymca for childcare? Our oldest three would be in school during the day but could go elsewhere after school if we found a decent program, if the schools didn't have any after school program.. Our youngest would still be in daycare so that's another issue as well. I have searched online and have come across some posts about Edmond, but am looking for other cities as well. Our home budget is about 150k-185k, if that puts us out of any cities limits please let us know.

Bottom line: If anyone has any city recommendations or facility recommendations to further guide our research we would really appreciate that. I understand the monthly bill for any child care option will not be pretty, but we are comfortable being in the $600-750 range.

Hope to hear from anyone soon.

Thanks!

I'm guessing with your children being in that age range it would probably be best for your wife to just stay home and take care of them. Look for a cheaper house and don't spend so much money on useless junk. It's always best to have a parent take care of their children instead of farming them out for someone else to raise.

Soooo inappropriate. The OP asked for daycare options not parental advice. Don't understand the ability of this forum to attract trolls

Anyway moving on.....

I just moved out of OKC about a month and a half ago but a few people in my downtown office went to St Lukes UMC Daycare and had nothing but good things to say about it. From what I understand it is not cheap, but it is probably the best option for professionals working downtown. I am not sure where you will be working but just an option.
