So what's the weather like in Oklahoma overall? Bad winters? Hot summers? What's the best season there?

I like Fall. The Winters there, although not as cold as in PA can get brisk at times but overall they are not too bad unless you get ice storms. Summers are hot, but not as bad as areas further South and Southeast. Spring is an event. If you like weather Spring has it. The potential for tornadoes in the Spring are quite high, but your chances of getting hurt or killed by a tornado are miniscule compared to getting killed in an auto accident.

Also, the climate zones below can tell you what Oklahoma's weather is like compared to other areas in the US.

I was going to try to explain what the weather was like, but by the time I described it, it had changed.

I have heard it said that people go to Oklahoma for the climate, but all they get is weather.

Practically every state that I've been in I have heard the old saying "If you don't like the weather in <insert the state here>, then wait a few minutes.

Actually, that phrase was coined by Oklahoma's Will Rogers, who was of Cherokee heritage and was talking about Oklahoma's turbulent weather. People like him only come around once in a great, great while. We could use somebody like him these days.

Yes, Synopsis. Nothing is more annoying than other states (especially in stagnant weather areas such as New England) using that phrase.

Nameless, you could become the next Gary England. I lived in Maryland and Wisconsin, and their weather was pretty boring.

You know, I've heard of Will Rogers my entire life and today is the first day I've ever seen what he looked like. I know, I'm really on the ball.

I'm just glad that you posted that map, Synopsis. I know there's a few like that posted on the forum and I was searching for one because someone was interested in the zones.

My personal favorite month in Okla City is October.

And yes, the springtime is great for watching approaching storms.
