Republican rule has caused support for education to plunge. As proof of that, even though more money was coming in from the lottery and casinos, state funding for education was cut more by a percentage rate than in any other state since 2008. This is in large part what Republicans mean when they say they believe in making government smaller. If you believe it's wrong to make government smaller this way, then don't vote for a Republican in 2016. Boren wouldn't be talking about the need to raise the state sale tax by a penny had Republicans given higher priority to funding education.
For some odd reason, you've quoted a post of mine which had nothing to do with anything political.

Here is the thing. Not being attracted to a person of a particular race is one thing. Looking down on someone because they date outside of their race, that is stupid in my opinion. Who you date, that is your business. Looking down on interracial dating, that is racist.

Who are these "Evangelicals" I read about? None particularly in Tulsa where I live, except for the strange zone around ORU. It is a non-issue.

Seems to me it's a word popularized here in City/Data. Some have added it to their vocabulary to have another five syllable words at their disposal. LOL

One reason I think the way that I do. This is the reason I get upset with people who look down on interracial marriages.

I was stationed at an Air Force base just outside Oklahoma City.

Lots of Black Airmen were stationed there, but they didn't live where the base was but lived in the Negro part of OKC.

Probably because they read the sign outside the base that said "Negro, don't let the sun set on you in Midwest City".

I am white, my girlfriend was Black/Cherokee. It was against the law for us to get married in Oklahoma so we drove to New Mexico.

I only know of one interracial married couple. They have 2 daughters. I had a rental next door to their home and decided to sell it. They were the buyers. I gave them a great deal because I wanted them to have it. The wife is white, the husband black. He remodeled the house I sold and made it into a lovely place. He did it is his hours off from his regular job.

Their oldest daughter is about 14 and she is knockout gorgeous. Her sister is not even pretty, not in any way. Perhaps it will be better when she's older, but I don't think there is much chance. It's an example of life isn't fair.

*EDIT, in response to Teakboat too*

"Evangelical" generally is applied to the Christians holding to a strong view of Scripture, i.e. the Bible is the Word of God.

Southern Baptists are the Evangelicals most often referenced in Oklahoma. There are Evangelicals of all stripes & colors from all denominations.

It's 2015 fellar. I see interracially mixed couples all the time in OKC. I came from the Ardmore and it was not out of the ordinary to see mixed couples in podunk Ardmore either.

Oklahoma is not a racist state. Sure, there are idiot racists here, but that could be said of every state, and every ethnicity, of course.
