Hi All, We will be moving from Dallas to OKC and wanted some feedback regarding houses that serve deer creek elementary school (specifically Lone Oak Farms - Taber built) VERSUS Grove Vally Elementary (The Grove) VERSUS Valencia and surrounding area (West Field elementary). Are any of the schools better than other. On Oklahoma Dept. of Education school report card Deer creek is the only school that have achieved A rating in year 2018-2019. Your take on these specific areas and schools will be appreciated.

I'm not real knowledgeable about the specifics of the individual grade schools but all of them are in the same basic neighborhood so for the most part I'd assume they are similar in the type of students and the family types the students come from. With that in mind at the grade school level I would expect that they are all pretty similar as well despite the separate schools systems.

Once you get into the mid school/mid high level I think there might be some difference as Deer Creek is a more homogeneous district. Deer Creek system is almost all new suburban neighborhoods. Edmond has more of a mix of everything typical of a traditonal town/city. While Edmond is a wealthy town overall it has a poor old area, a middle class older area, a college housing type area and some section 8 housing and apartments. Deer Creek area has little or none of that.

You might still have a few farm families around as Deer Creek was once a little country school. When I grew up in Edmond, Dear Creek was so small it didn't even have a football team....but those country boys could play that basketball!!

Deer Creek is considered better by some.

Deer Creek is right on the edge of rural between Edmond and Piedmont.

Edmond schools are fine. Kinda snooty.

If ya'll are into sports I'd go with Deer Creek as it should be easier to make teams and get playing time.
