Mainstream, true. Underground, there is alot of music pumping out of Austin, Dallas, and Fort Worth.
And not many people really admire the hip hop that comes out of Shreveport or even Baton Rouge right now. It's mostly garbage.

I think when Dallas goes mainstream Tulsa and OKC artists will benefit. OK artists are all over the Metroplex pushing CDs. I'm familier with some Tulsa rap, ISCO-SAY's CD Thug Town. Sounds pretty good. Dallas has several underground artists who get alot of local radio play; Big Tuck, Tum Tum, Gaitor Man, Mr Pookie, Mr Lucci and Play N Skillz, to name a few. Obviously none are household names yet, but their songs are bumpin' all over D/FW. This area needs few rappers and producers to go mainstream like Atlanta's Jermaine Dupree, Dallas Austin; Houston's Scarface, Bun B and the late DJ Screw and Pimp C. The rap industry changes flavors every few years... NYC, LA, St Louis, Memphis, Oakland, New Orleans, Atlanta, Houston.

Maybe rap's next "flavor" will be palatable?

Lol, you forget the past. Before No Limit New Orleans was basically in the same boat as OKC, Little Rock etc.
There was a time when southern and rap was an oxymoron. Change can happen.

I agree with you, we have enough of that rap **** and hip hop here in Pa to choke a horse, i can't stand it, it needs to go away.

OKC has never been a big hip-hop town. They didn't even have an urban contemporary radio station (nor could they support one) until 2004 when Power 93.5 went on the air and even now it is a poor quality, rimshot signal. People said OKC was the only city of its size in the entire country that didn't have an urban radio station....that should say a lot. OKC is a country and southern rock town. I doubt it will ever be a big hip-hop town. The demographics just don't support it. Cities like Atlanta, Houston, New Orleans, etc that have huge hip-hop scenes all have one thing in common OKC doesn't...a large black population with heavy economic clout. OKC has a decent sized black population but it is overall depressed and poverty stricken when compared to the aforementioned cities.
