I've moved into an apartment near downtown and am looking for somewhere to take my newspapers/magazines, aluminum cans and plastic containers to be recycled. I'd rather not toss them in the apartment dumpster. Anyone know where the closest recycling place for such things might be?

I did. The word was that they don't offer that service to apartment dwellers. Anyone have any other ideas? I did find a place near NW 12th and Broadway that would take my newspapers and magazines. Still looking for someplace to take glass, cans and plastic.

Glad to know you are being proactive about it!

I never thought that recycling services wouldn't be offered to folks in apartments. I take it that your apartment complex is not interested in offering bins for such items? Even better I don't understand why the city doesn't provide bins and pick them up here and there.

Go to this website: Find Recycling Centers In Your Area With Maps and Driving Directions You can put in your zip code and they will give you a map of the nearest recycling centers to your home. It's how we found the one in Mustang.

Default Found one!

It's located at 1432 W. Main St. There are big blue metal containers for newsprint, paper, plastic, cardboard, cans etc. It's great! I'm delighted to have found it.

I wish more people recycled. It's a waste if you don't. We have regular pickup at my home for recycled items. The city even provides a special container to set out on trash days.
