OkieGirl, could you elaborate more on your mention of the low percentage of Catholicism in OK??? Are you saying that even though Oklahoma doesn't feel southern to you, it is somewhat southern because it has the typical high percentage of Southern Baptists (and not a high percentage of Catholicism which is found in the Midwest and East Coast)?

I'm from Fort Smith Arkansas and I feel pretty at home in Oklahoma City. More so than in Northwest Arkansas which less than an hour from Fort Smith.

My mom's family is from Spiro, Oklahoma....just across the stateline from Fort Smith. We used to go over to Fort Smith often when I was little. I really enjoyed that area.

When my Grandpa passed away a few years ago I flew into the little airport there in Fort Smith. Lots of really good down-home folks there. Us Okies and Arkies gotta stick together!

I agree. Arkies and Okies are pretty much like brothers and sisters. I have lived in Arkansas and found the people to be very generous.

It's also one of the most beautiful states in the country.

Absolutely....and amen to Arkansas being one of the most beautiful states....we love the Eureka Springs area. Plus, Lake Quachita is probably the most beautiful lake I've ever been on (and I've been on a lot).
