5am, not much traffic in any direction. Tornadoes, you can be hit anywhere, just the way it is. Heck, I almost got hit a week ago and I live next to sacred ground in Norman.

Check with the Tinker Off-Base Housing office; they'll show you how to access the Automated Housing Referral System, if you're eligible. It, and they, do NOT recommend particular areas of the city -- they only check the homes listed to ensure they're habitable and, to a small extent, the office does a partial vetting of the owner/manager.

NewsOK's Crime tracker is excellent, but check the dates on crimes shown; in some areas, the most recent info displayed is more than 2 years old. It does give you a relative picture to use for comparison, but your best bet is to call the servicing police precinct; they'll provide an accurate, current picture.

Don't live in del city or Midwest City. There are so many other options, and beautiful places to live. We lived there from 2002 to 2006 and are moving back for our second tour at Tinker. the only time I go to Del City is to go in the front gate to base. Bleh.
