there are public docks in Muskogee and commercial docks along the canal. but access to those docks is through locks ON the canal.

I hope so. There are many ways OKC could be improved but this isn't one of them. The North Canadian river is not wide enough nor major enough to support serious ship traffic. Sometimes its completely dry in areas not dammed up into the Oklahoma River.

Much of what OKC can do is limited by its geography.

Isnt the river that goes through oklahoma city tiny? how could it support major ships? OKC should focus more on gaining jobs or increasing density in their center. Its always the cities that have the most jobs or are the most liberal areas that gain population. Ex. Dallas and Seattle

Today, it's the places that have strong hipster scenes that are attracting the most young, educated transplants. That is why places like Austin, Portland, and Seattle are exploding so fast. OKC has a LONG way to go before it can reach that status.
