Moving to the OKC area and was wondering if there were any other neighborhoods similiar to ski island? Neighborhoods with lakes that you could have jet skis or maybe even just small engine boats. Lake homes that offer canoe or kayaking? Thanks

The only one I can think of is the area around Lake Hiawassie in NE Edmond. Otherwise, unless you want to move out a little further out of the metro area and get a lot off a lake or get some property with a pond you may be a out of luck.

If you don't mind me asking, do you not care for Ski Island? I always thought is was a neat neighborhood and the concept around the lakes is cool, albeit the home styles can be a little 70's-ish. If you want to try looking at Blue Stem Lake, which is just across Hefner. Another neat hood, but I'm not sure if you can have a motorized boat on it, and the houses tend to be a little more upscale (averaging about 250-300K).

Maybe Lake Aluma but honestly I don't know what the regulations are.

Thanks for the info. There is nothing wrong with Ski Island just very few houses for sale and may need some updating but this type of neighborhood is what we are looking for. I will see if I can find anything on BlueStem.

Try searching Silver Lake and Briarcreek (just south and tied into ski island)- it seems like there's more homes for sale there right now- I don't think you're allowed motorized boats though, you'd have to check. Something to be aware of, these neighborhoods to do tend to flood, so make sure to ask the real estate agent if flood insurance is needed.
If you're searching the okc mls, try looking near Lake Overholser. There's some nice homes around it, although none with direct lake access. But the nice thing about Overholser, is the Rt 66 Boathouse, used for kayaking. Route 66 Boathouse - Lake Overholser

I second Overholser. We're not right on the lake, but withing walking distance. It's a very nice neighborhood.
