This post is one of the very reasons I am rarely on this forum anymore. Does nothing but discourage people from coming here while maintaining untrue stereotypes. The main thing holding Oklahoma back is itself.

this is a bad thing? Some of us don't consider Oklahoma being held back by anything. Or do you think it would be nice if we were more like California, Florida, or New York?

You could tweak a few - very few - just a little bit, and it would fit Alaska perfectly.

Eh, it's just a joke. If some idiot who reads cdf decides not to move to Oklahoma because of a joke thread on some internet forum, then THANK EFFIN GAWD they don't move here!

I mean, seriously. We all know the truth about Oklahoma, so why sweat the dumb sh. Every state has it's zingers that make people cringe.

I like the trim the fat off the steak.

HAHA!! And then eat deep fried Okra. Speaking of which; I planted some Okra seeds in a large 14" pot and now I can't keep up with it. I fried some up for breakfast and poured scrambled eggs all over it. MMMMMM good.
Now, am I going to be a bonified Okie or what?

Preach it, RB! LOL

Yeh, the world would be such a better place if we could all laugh at ourselves a little more and not take everything so seriously.....especially a city-data forum haha!

I enjoyed fried Okra this very weekend and overheard this conversation:

Daughter: Did you add oil to the okra?
Mother (age 89): Yes, there wasn't enough.
Daughter: Now there's too much. What did you add?
Mother: Crisco of course.
Daughter: OMG! It's too greasy.
Daughter #2: It doesn't matter because it's Crisco.

But I can attest that the fried okra was very, very good and I especially enjoyed putting the homemade hot stuff on it.

Just wish I'd had some fried green tomatoes.

Hey! It's the fat that gives the steak its flavor, RB. The problem is that I need to trim the fat off of me, LOL. Or, as the wife says, "Feed the bear don't poke at it, it bites".
