We're looking at a home in Kingston. We're retired and looking for a permanent home for relaxing and fishing. Can anyone tell us any facts/feelings about this town/area? We're moving from CO.

I live SW of Kingston, right on Lake Texoma. In many ways, it is a great place; especially for retirees. I moved here from Edmond and it was a great change of pace. But I ended up marrying a local which was a bad mistake. Locals are very friendly, but some who have been around always have very low morals and will con you if not careful. but there are many retirees here from all over the states of Oklahoma and Texas and they are wonderful people!

Have you driven there and looked around? I know there are literally dozens of little retirement/resort type communities scattered around the lake and you can sometimes find a property for rent by driving around.
