I'm looking to achieve one of my dreams, that being moving to Oklahoma. I first visited the state in 1997, and, have since wanted to move there. FYI, reasons I want to move there are, I go storm chasing, the economy, growth, and the overall environment of the state. I'm mostly looking at the Oklahoma City area, but am open to others as well. So, here's the questions I've got.

Which towns around OKC would everyone recommend? One thing I want to do is go back to being a volunteer firefighter again.

Anyone know of any oil/gas companies that hire entry level personnel who are not engineers?

If not oil/gas companies, what other companies are hiring in Oklahoma?

I'm open to working just about anywhere as long as it pays the bills.

Any other advice will be greatly appreciated.

It is great that someone wants to move to Oklahoma. If you are at least a high school graduate, with a solid, crime free background, you shouldn't have much trouble getting a job in the Oklahoma City area. I would imagine most volunteer fire departments are in the little towns.

A good place to get started in Oklahoma is to use Stillwater as a base to get some idea what's available there as well as in the Oklahoma City and Tulsa areas.

I have an associats of applied science in HVAC technology. I would actually like to go back to school and get at least 1 more degree. I've looked at both Rose State College and Redlands Community College. I've looked at Stillwater before. I like how it's growing fairly rapidly, as one of my goals is to have a self storage business sometime.
