IN RESPONSE TO DRY CONDITIONS, U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.),INTRODUCES LAKE THUNDERBIRD BILL

April 13, 2011

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), a leading Senate conservative, today introduced S. 802, the Lake Thunderbird Efficient Use Act of 2011. Under this legislation, the Central Oklahoma Master Conservancy District (COMCD) is granted the authority to import and store water into Lake Thunderbird. Due to the increase of population in the Norman area, the additional water stored at Lake Thunderbird would help increase municipal and industrial supplies for cities including Norman, Midwest City, and Del City.............

Quote:
Residents surrounding Lake Thunderbird will not face an increase of cost, as the legislation will not cost taxpayers a single dime.
.: United States Senator James Inhofe :: Press Room :.

Oh I see that gives cover to the City of Norman's desire to go in hock for kazillions to pump water from Lake Sardis. Norman has been beating the drum for this already.
