I am going to be spending a weekend at Turner Falls in the near future, and would like to know if anyone has been there and can tell me about what campsites and/or cabins in or near there that they would recommend, and what their overall impression on Turner Falls is.

I haven't been there since I was in high school. I don't remember a thing about it.

I went through their parking lot last weekend, and the swimming hole was pretty busy. There were lots of cars in the parking lot......it was pretty full........so someone must be enjoying something a lot. I have no idea about accommodations there, though. I do know there are some state parks in the area, several church camps, and the Sulphur area has a lot of nice camping areas.

A coworker of mine rented a cabin in the fall through these people and really enjoyed it. Give thema try:

Home | Arbuckle Mountain Lodging

As for Tuner Falls, well its certainly no Niagra Falls but its about the most impressive natural waterfall around. Also its a great starting point for the surrounding Arbuckle Region. There are also several small waterfalls scattered about that area.

My only complaint is that some of the area struggled to recover from some pretty disastrous wildfores and ice storms the past few years. Also, the place is invaded by Texans every summer. See if you can go after Labor Day to avoid the crowds.

Thanks for the info. The funny thing is, the weekend sometime in the future is to meet up with an old friend I used to go camping with in high school who now lives in Texas and thought it would be fun to spend a weekend camping or at a cabin again.
