I really like the dragon! I always wanted one of my own, to be my friend. [Read too many Ann McCaffrey books, I guess.]

I hope you don't mind if I use Prairie Dog Man in a post now and then. I think it would work well for me as a mod to post something like that telling people to "tone it down" in a light-hearted way.

LR,
What do horses need for shelter in the okie winter? Will I be able to just drive over the snow that falls? I would really like to leave the shovel and snow plow in Maine! Almost 50 and don't want to shovel ANYMORE!

It depends which part of the state you are considering. But for most of the state, snow is measured in inches and not FEET! The exception would probably be in the panhandle area where they seem to get extremes of heat and snow.

We're in the southern half of the state...just enough snow to look pretty for a day or so and then it's gone. Only thing I have had to shovel was a layer of ice in the driveway, and that was fun!

My Dad's horses only had a 3 sided enclosure in their pasture, but it was set at an angle and had Dad's shop a few hundred feet in front of it so they had a "wind break" during cold weather... and they did just fine for over 20 years. I'll try to dig up a picture that shows how it looked.

Sounds like we are about the same age.

Oh wow, I wish I enjoyed shoveling snow cause we usually have plenty of it. It gets heavier every year.

Do you guys have enough snow that you actually own snowblowers?
