Just booked a night via Priceline in OKC for the upcoming OU game (all the hotels in Norman were booked) and got the Skirvin. I wasn't expecting it as I thought it was a 4* and my options only went up to 3.5*.

I've heard it's very nice. I've also heard its haunted. I'll admit I'm not really thrilled about that as I wouldn't have booked it with that reputation otherwise. I don't know what I believe ghost-wise, but I actively avoid booking "haunted" places as I don't want to think about that as I'm trying to fall asleep!

Default Ghost stories

I've never actually stayed there, but I've been in the hotel several times. The Skirvin is a beautifully restored hotel. Probably the nicest hotel (along with the Colcord) in town. I've heard the rumors about it being haunted too. There's been stories in the paper about some NBA players don't like to stay there. I know people that have stayed there, and never experienced anything out of the ordinary.

I personally think anytime you're in an old historic hotel there will be those stories. We've stayed in several over the years and and have never had a bad experience. Years later after staying in these hotels I have heard stories that these places are haunted. Guess we just aren't interesting enough to the ghosts.

Simply find out which floors are haunted and make sure you don't have a room in one of them. Surely not all floors are haunted.
