OK is okay; it's a great place to live. There are only two mega-cities: Oklhoma City and Tulsa. You won't do much fishing in these two cities. These two cities are more affected by tornadoes than areas nearer the Missouri/Oklahoma border.

You can dog groom from your house. Where does your boyfriend work?

I lived near Grove and Grand Lake for a number of years. It's a 100 miles NE of Tulsa. I loved it for the lake and nature. The school system is not bad and neither is the hospital or restaurants. There are two large parks and one child's park.

You'll find doctors, Walmart, drug stores, pizza, gas stations, McDonald's Subway and other familiar stores. Grove is probably about 1/20 the size of Milwaukee. Joplin, Missouri is the closest large town; it's a little less than an hour away. It's 90 miles from Springfield and Branson, and about 200 miles from Kansas City or St. Louis. Dallas is 6 hours from Grove.

I lived in Grove over two decades and never saw a tornado. There was tornado activity a few miles south and few miles northwest but it was not in or near the City of Grove itself.

You can easily find rentals $500-600. Employment will be harder to find in this economy

A really good dog groomer is hard to find - especially if they are good with big dogs. One of the best groomers I knew (she died) had a doggie day care, too. She had a huge outside fenced area for them to play in. It was attached to the house so they could not escape when she put them out. She made a lot of money and never charged big prices. She charged $35 for my standard poodle.

You should definitely visit before you up and move everything. It could save you some serious cash and contentment in the long run.

There are others that have moved to Oklahoma without doing their homework and, for whatever reason, some of them have been so disappointed that they decided to move back home.

I'm not trying to discourage you, but being a youngin' I think it would be wise for you to checkout Oklahoma before you leave everything else behind. I for one, would not just up and leave everything in OK City just to move to Milwaukee without checking it out.

Just some thoughts in passing.
