Good Morning Everyone
It must getting close to that time for you folks to be thinking of planting, and home gardens. What is the norm out in OK. Plant around the rocks? Soil is great and roots go to China? Oh forget it and do a raised bed type ? Give every plant a stack and tie it to it because of the winds? Greenhouse only?
Please educate this future transplant.
What kind of hunting is in Oklahoma? All my hunting these days are with cameras. A 35 SLR and a digital "prosumer".What kind of animals? Are there animals all over for open hunting or just on ranches these days.

The soil in OK is so variable. If you kept a garden spot in mind when looking at a house, you can find some good soil. Where I am right now I just went with raised beds because it is just very thin topsoil with a layer of rock right beneath it.

My gardening motto is, if at first you don't succeed, try try again. You don't need a greenhouse. Just wait until the middle of April to plant your tomatoes.

We have lots of wildlife here. I see deer, raccoons, possums, armadillos most often. Bobcats, coyotes, and foxes are harder to see. We have all kinds of birds that migrate through, so you will have fun with your camera. Yay, another photographer!

We have a very small plot. But last year was a total wash out. It rained constantly and all the tomato plants went soggy and rotten.

Normally we keep it down to 20 or so tomatoes, squash and zucchini and a few bell peppers. We have rich soil.

Nice yard and garden. Hope when I get settled out there I can have something like that.
Make me drool for Spring.
