From the Del Rancho drive-ins in the OKC area - the Del Rancho Steak Sandwich, with a side of fried okra. Batter dipped and fried steak on a big bun. Heavenly.

At the other end of the culinary scale - two desserts - Chocolate Fauvet and Grand Marnier Souffle at the Coach House in OKC. Why? Think chocolate, more chocolate, raspberry, orange, whipped cream! Yum!

I think my friend took me there when I was in Shawnee in 03. We had a batter fried steak on a big bun, he wouldn't order the okra for me though because he doesn't like okra. I love it. It was right close to Tinker AFB

When we were young, (like 50 years ago) we used to eat at the Top Hat drive in out on Harrison St in Shawnee, they made the best burgers and fries, served with a tall frosted mug of root beer. I think I still have one of the top hat tooth picks that came in the burger. The owner of the Top Hat is the founder of Sonic Drive ins. Sadly, the Top Hat is no more.

Meers' burgers are really good. I just wish the restaurant didn't look so trashy. It looks like the sort of place where "Leatherface" from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre would burst out of the front door wielding a chainsaw.
