Albawadi Mediterranean Cuisine on Boomer Road in Stillwater. Some of the best Mediterranean food I've had in years.

I know. Oklahoma is way too repressed to have good food and nice restaurants. But gotta give credit where credit is due........

And, here's another reason! Oklahoma City was ranked as the 2nd most patriotic city in the country. Hey, whats up with that #2 business!?

OKC has a much greater variety of ethnic restaurants than you would expect in the middle of Oklahoma. Lots of quality Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine is available.

That japanese restaurant in the retro fitted house called "Japanese Garden", i think, is pretty good and so is Sushi Neko. Both have pretty good fresh sushi, better than alot of places I have been in DFW area.

The only Malay/Singaporean restaurant I have seen or know about is the one by that asian grocer Chao Nyugen, its called Banana Leaf or something. Not that great, not going back.

I've heard that quite a bit bchris. I've heard the food is really good here, including the kinds you mentioned.

Sushi is my favorite thing to eat, but, I haven't been to those places justanokie. I've heard about Sushi Neko from others, and I have been to that grocery store. I've tried so many times to make sushi, but I'm doing something wrong, and can't figure it out, even on the most simple kind, the California Roll. I'm going to get a sushi roller because I cant roll mine tight.

My new favorite sushi place is Volcano in Moore - especially the Crazy Jalapeno and the Volcano rolls. The Bento Box at lunch is a great value.

I heard yesterday on a radio station from Minneapolis (WCCO) that Oklahoma City had the second lowest unemployment rate in the nation for it's size based on June data. The lowest.. Minneapolis! Which I found surprising but I'm glad for them as I love the Twin Cities.

I read this before I moved here when I was researching OKC. The strong economy is definitely why I'm here. Who would have thought that of all the places I could move (especially for my career field) that I'd end up here?

I just returned from Minnesota a couple of weeks back. I was asked several times where I'm from .. gladly said Oklahoma (not originally).. Many of the folks responded " too many tornadoes there!" That seems by far to be the first thing people from other parts of the country think of about Oklahoma... that, and too many rednecks. This state just can't seem to shake those kind of reputations.

One other thing I've heard many say and have experienced myself is the horrible dating scene. This is because of the mentality here where everyone thinks they have to get married right after high school or college and have 5 kids.
