I eat instant grits every now and then at home (in My Cousin Vinnie, no self-respecting southerner would eat those). I really don't see them much on menus. I eat grits when we are in the real south. I don't like the cheese grits though.

"Cheese grits" sounds REALLY good, but what do I know, I'm just a Yankee.

Now this is amazing because both diners in my small little New Jersey town have grits on the menu. Go figure

And the patrons of those diners talk just like Cousin Vinnie too!

Actually, no. In my part of the state if there is an accent at all it would be more Philadelphia. Cousin Vinnie is really more northern NJ, like around Hoboken, Jersey City, etc. If you visited my home, between the scenery, the distance from the major highways (Garden State and Turnpike) lack of "joisey" accent, and the flatness of the area, you would never know you were in NJ. In fact we've had several tornadoes here ourselves. About 15 years ago a tornado came right down our street. and then proceeded to take the roof off a local supermarket.

I've never seen a tornado(plenty of hurricanes, but no tornadoes), and I've never lived anywhere that was really flat.
Looks like you're WAY ahead of the curve than I am.

Down your street huh?
I think I'd need a change of clothes after that.

Wasn't trying to be humorous....
Just telling it like it is...
(But thanks for the rep... I'm gonna have to give complete strangers some rep before I can give any to the folks I want to... Yeah, I know... Can't end a sentence with a preposition...)

M.

P.S.

Wifey made chocolate-chip cookies... And there's not enough milk...
Guess who's taking a walk with his DD ( Dear Daughter) to get some at this hour?
(And NO, I'm not complaining.... I enjoy our walks... Or I wouldn't make them.)

M.

Sometimes it is so hard structuring a sentence without using a preposition at the end of it. Sometimes I just give up trying.

It's easy enough to do, but it can make one sound a bit too formal for our purpose here. I just pointed out that I was aware that I did it... Didn't want Colleen to think I'm a redneck or something.

M.

P.S.
I wasn't complaining about having to take that walk to get milk.
I enjoy walks with the kids... Even when it's below freezing and windy
like it was during our walk last night.
I did have the option of taking the car, but I wanted the quality time.
