I'm just curious as to why Ardmore which is not a big city has so much crime? I was doing some research for someone and I went on Sperlings website and the crime ranked very high. Ardmore seems like a really nice place otherwise.

Oklahoma's towns tend to have high crime rates. I think a lot of it has to do with people letting their guard down from thinking that since they are in a small town where nothing happens, it's bound to be a lot safer from crime than the big city. And so that falsehood draws crime and Stillwater police end up advising citizens to always lock their cars, and to avoid getting robbed after dark don't walk alone. The more people you're with the less likely someone with a gun will hold you up.

It has nothing to do with letting ones guard down. Oklahoma has a high crime rate because it has a high poverty rate.

Ardmore has the highest violent crime rate in the entire state because of infestation of gangs. It's higher than even Chicago.

WRONG, and I can prove it with my own personal example. Last summer in Stillwater I absently mindedly left the top of my convertible down with my camera in view. When I came back the camera was gone.

I-35 passing through Ardmore provides a quick getaway for criminals.

What you describe is not a violent crime.

Many towns in America have quick interstate access, this isn't unique to Ardmore.

Face it, Oklahoma has a high violent crime problem. And blaming it on our "low guard" is absurd.

The op's concern didn't seem to be limited to violent crime, and I prefer to go by my own experience with crime as to what can commonly cause it to come about.

say that they are safer than Ardmore OK , however Chicago Ill-Ole-Noise my Bad Illinois had
500 Murders as opposite to Ardmore Oklahoma 2 Murders and Ardmore OK came out as the
( more ) Dangerous And Violent Location because of the smoke and mirrors.
