Makes my mouth water just reading it. Back in the 80s, our legislature asked local restaurants to infuse elements of the meal into their menus. I'm glad places are still doing it.

Oklahoma state meal consisting of fried okra, squash, cornbread, barbecue pork, biscuits, sausage and gravy, grits, corn, strawberries, chicken fried steak, pecan pie, and black-eyed peas.

One thing is for sure, the Southern association of Oklahoma's state meal cannot be argued. Wow! I like everything in it.

Okra = the Lord's perfect food.
Sweet Tea = nectar of the gods (My folks used to say "take that sugar out of my cornbread and put it in my iced tea please!"
Pecan Pie = the world's perfect dessert
