LadyRobyn, your grand daughter is such a cutie. Looks like she is dancin' to the music.

Redbird, I am no cradle robber! Sam is my favorite OU player though. Adrian used to be my favorite.

My real favorites, that I would steal anytime, if I thought I could get away with it:

Default Yankee?

I check into the NJ forum everyone once in a while and there was a question today. They OP wanted to know if New Jerseyans were considered "yankees". One of the responders said they have family in OK and they consider New Jerseyans yankees. I thought I would drop this question here to see what the rest of your say. Are only New Englanders yankees or is NJ considered yankees?

I think NJans would be Yankees. We don't really do much Civil War stuff here in Oklahoma. A Yankee would just be someone from the North from Maine to Minnesota.

Yep, nothing wrong with Yankees. It's not a derogatory term in Oklahoma, at least not in my opinion.

Oh you guys, I LOVE your babies. (I know, probably Grandbabies.) Now I not only want your dog, Peggy, I want your little boy, too.

Robyn, that is such a precious little girl.

Hey, Jammie, I was wondering how you were with the storm.

Both of my grandsons are going to grow up to be President.

Oklahoma was mostly neutral during the civil war with a slight leaning towards the south. The wealthier members of the Five Civilized tribes were slave owners. Further, they had been forcibly moved by the US Army to Oklahoma from their ancestral homes in the east. There was no love lost between many of the Five Civilized Tribes and the Union Army. Brigadier General Stand Watie was a Confederate general leading primarily Cherokee, Seminole and Creek soldiers.

New jersey provided three regiments to Lincoln and the Union Army.

So yes. New Jersey is inhabited by Yankees.

Hey, I'll vote for them. All they have to do is promise me candy and they've got my vote. I didn't know if they were two seperate babies or just a pic of babyhood and big boyhood.

I was actually surprised when I first learned that Ok leaned more to the South during the war. Was OK inhabited much at that time? I know my own state wasn't. In fact, we weren't a state yet either and we're older then OK.

NJ may have had a few problems during the Civil War. A portion of the state is north of the Mason/Dixon line and the other part is south of that line.

I was surprised when I heard some tribes like the Choctaw had African American slaves. Then when the slavery was abolished, the african americans were enrolled as members of the tribes. Around here, you see a lot of African Americans with seminole tribal tags on their cars.

I have never heard anyone use the term "yankee" around here.
