Democrats don't want an NFL team in Oklahoma, nor do they want to spend the money to build a stadium. We ALL know it's a political issue, so political jabs are in order.

The NFL never builds the stadium. Their brand is a money maker and they know it. Cities foot the bill because they want the revenue and new businesses new stadiums and NFL games bring.

OK has Thunder, but Texas has seven teams, and MO has four. Are fans saturated; does the league need another team? If you go out a little farther Chicago has five.
I don't know the answer as I am not a sports fan. .

Then OU's football stadium should be used for pro football as well. OU could play at 11 am on a Saturday and the pro team could play later at 7pm. And the pro football team could have the stadium anytime during the rest of the days of the week. As popular as the Sooners are, surely plenty of people would still want to watch them play.

OU would never allow a pro team that would compete for sponsorship and tickets sales with the Sooners to use their stadium. They in fact already didn't allow that 30 years ago with the Oklahoma Outlaws of the USFL.

The Oklahoma City market can't support NFL and NBA anyway. The studies show that Oklahoma city might be able to add MLS along with NBA.

If the NFL was to come to Oklahoma it would be in Tulsa. But, there are several problems. You a team to be for sale, you need a billionaire that wants to be an owner that wants to move a team here, you need a stadium, which is probably doable if someone would move a team and then, most of all, you need the NFL's consent.

There currently is no team for sale, no such wanna be owner and the NFL currently will not allow any team to be moved anywhere but LA. No city gets an NFL team until LA has at least one team.

So, no. In the foreseeable future there will be no NFL team in Oklahoma. The best Oklahoma can hope for is NHL in Tulsa or MLS in Tulsa or Oklahoma City. Tulsa will never get the NBA as the NBA will not allow two teams in Oklahoma.

No experts said that OKC could support a NBA team temporary that's why the New Orleans team
came to OKC.

OKC and Tulsa both had enough money to get Major League Sports Teams ( well 1 Team ) a piece in
the 2004-- 2008 era , and both tried to get a NHL team ( The Pittsburgh Penguins ) along with Kansas
City Missouri and all three cities failed in theirs attempt.

If Tulsa OK tried to get a NFL team the other owners would fall out of theirs easy chairs laughing....

At 1.1 million Tulsa's CSA is far larger than Green Bays, obviously. Is nearly exactly the same size as Buffalo (less than 5k smaller, probably won't be smaller in the next couple of years) and is just a little smaller than New Orleans.

Default Good point on Green Bay Wisconsin having a NFL team

My father-in-law lives in Milwaukee Wisconsin and I have been to Green Bay and seen the Staduim of the Green Bay Packers

Wikipedia... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Bay_Packers
Green Bay is the third-oldest franchise in the NFL, having been organized and playing in 1919.[5] The Packers are the only non-profit, community-owned major league professional sports team in the United States.

The Packers are the last vestige of "small town teams" that were once common in the NFL during the 1920s and 1930s. Founded in 1919 by Earl "Curly" Lambeau (hence the name Lambeau Field on which the team plays) and George Whitney Calhoun, the Green Bay Packers can trace their lineage to other semi-professional teams in Green Bay dating back to 1896. In 1919 and 1920 the Packers competed as a semi-professional football team against clubs from around Wisconsin and the Midwest. They joined the American Professional Football Association (APFA) in 1921, the forerunner to what is known today as the National Football League (NFL). Although Green Bay is by far the smallest professional sports market in North America, its local fan base and media extends into nearby Milwaukee; the team also played selected home games there between 1933 and 1994.
( however I never watched a game of theirs there ).

Tulsa missed the era where the smaller Metro's could own a team , and ( this is important ) the Green Bay Packers Fans Are (10X the Sports Fans) of anything that you have in OKLAHOMA , they support Win or Lose , Live or Die ( we ain't talking about fair weather FANS HERE.........No SIR....

Oklahoma is lacking in sports fans. That's the position you are taking? Next you are going to say that Tulsa's not into live music.

The only thing in Oklahoma more popular than football is Jesus. And it's close. You think the Thunder are popular? That's nothing compared to what an NFL team would be like here, not even remotely close. An NFL team in Oklahoma would probably sell 70,000 seats for a stadium in Guymon.

I'm not saying that Oklahoma is going to get a team, we're not. But the idea that such a theoretical team would lack support is comical.
