My daughter just came home from the hospital where a close friend of hers just passed away. 15 years old. She had sickle cell anemia which caused her to have a stroke on the way home from school yesterday. Last night she slipped into a coma. Anna and her other friend went to the hospital early this evening at the girl's mother's request, but she had already passed when they got there. According to Anna, it was a really bad scene. Anna and her friend Chrissy, who have lunch every day with this girl, took a picture necklace they were wearing and attached it to a bracelet Anna had and they put it on the girl's wrist, requesting she be buried with it. Anna is doing okay, but she's very quiet tonight. Please remember this girl's family in your prayers.

I will keep your daughter and the family of this girl in my prayers. How horrible at such a young age. No parent should lose their child, especially at Christmas time.

Hugs to all..

I'm sorry to hear that.
Those things are bad enough, but it's even worse when it's someone so young.

We'll pray for her.

Unhappy So Sorry

bjb123 and I send our prayers out to the young ladies family. A child (your little one) should never go through such things, thier lives should only be filled with happiness . God Bless them all.

My daughter's friend was buried today. Even though she died over a week ago, they held off the funeral until today. I wasn't able to go with Anna because I had no time off left this year at work. However, her other friend and her parents (the ones she went to the hospital with) took her to the viewing and funeral. My very brave almost-16 year old daughter, who not only stood by her friend's bedside while she was dying, also spoke at her funeral today. She said even though she was a little nervous in front of the whole crowd, she spoke about how even though Tishea only lived for 16 years, they were wonderful, joyous years, with a lot of fun and good times. I am so proud of her.
