No thanks... I'll leave that for the political forum. I don't think it can be done without someone saying something nasty about the side they don't like. I would like to be mistaken.

You could abstain like I will. Mary Fallin will win and likely will by a wide margin as she did in 2010. I'm abstaining because I don't see that one vote matters when the state will go largely Republican regardless. The state questions seem like they'll all go toward a "yes" vote. If the state would swing a bit more, I'd be more inclined to vote.

Well, Bush 43 won the presidency by 141 Florida votes so any election can swing on any vote. If you don't vote, you'll never know if your underdog candidate could have won. If you vote, at least you had your say and did your part.

Nobody lays down for the Sooners just because they are the Sooners. Don't laydown your vote. Vote for who you want to govern! Otherwise, the other guy/girl wins.

That's Florida though. It's a vastly different world than Oklahoma. Gore actually won several counties in that election. Oklahoma was the only state in which Obama didn't win a single county in 2008, unless you count Alaska's borough system. Likewise, he didn't win a single county in Oklahoma in the 2012 elections either. On the local level, Mary Fallin won all but four Oklahoma counties in 2010. She also won by more than 20 percentage points, equaling more than 216,000 voters. At the time, about 28% of Oklahomans voted and about 25% of Oklahomans were under the age of 18, so that's roughly 53% of the population accounted for. I don't feel like looking up ineligible voters, such as green card holders, convicted felons, etc. If I lived in Washington, Massachusetts or Illinois I may not vote either. Colorado and Nevada had more heated elections in 2010 with several gubernatorial candidates, Arizona had a relatively close election in 2002 with Napolitano winning by under 12,000 votes, and New Mexico went Democratic in 2006 and Republican in 2010. Under those circumstances I would vote, but Oklahoma doesn't really swing, thus I see no point in voting here.

If you don't vote, you can't complain about the governance. You didn't give your opinion the one time they asked for it.

I will also say that I see a lot more Joe signs here in Tulsa than Mary. One house even has a homemade Joe sign. That's a motivated voter.

How cliché. If this were Vegas rules, they'd probably only give you 100:1 odds Joe wins the election without the option to bet on Fallin, or at best, spread betting on her inevitable victory over him. Those signs you see are likely a vocal minority, like the religious right is on the national scale. Despite that Obama lost all Oklahoma counties twice, I still see more Obama stickers than those for Republican candidates.

I believe in a demand side economic policy rather than a supply side. Because of that I tend to vote Democratic. The Governor before Ms Fallin was a Democrat and I believe that if you don't vote you have no right to complain. I am incensed that the GOP has, on a national level, spent their entire effort at defeating Obama. Why on earth would I support anyone who spends their time obstructing rather than trying to achieve some sort of working solutions? Surely they could have worked towards veterans benefits. They could have moved to achieve better schools, better infrastructure, a stronger economy. Instead they spent their entire time obstructing. they don't even have a plan, and many of the plans that Obama got pushed through are, in fact, Republican. I don't care that much for Obama, but the GOP is a miserable failure. That is my perspective anyway.

Yeah, I reckon plenty of Oklahomans agree with Gov. Fallin that there could be too many dumb 'ol Okies, who would vote to raise the minimum wage in their localities. The risk of them actually doing that was judged too high, and it had to be taken care of. So Republicans, no doubt, also think government knows best for the people.

Who knows what else Republican legislators will do next year and to embarrass the state of Oklahoma? They might feel quite a need to get back at gays for winning the right to same sex marriage, or to people who want marijuana legalized in any way. So I would advise people not to vote for Republicans. They have gone too far to the far Christian right. But you vote for them, they win and they get the idea they must have been doing something right all along after all, especially for Gov. Fallin. For a second term, she won't have to worry about governing like she is going to have a third term to win.

As I see it, if you don't pay taxes, you can't complain about the governance.

On my street Dorman is ahead with yard signs 3 to 1.

One poll has Fallin slipping but still not very close.
