Just kidding. I just want to give a big hug to all the teachers we have on here. Thank you for giving so much of yourself when you get so little respect.

When I go out to dinner, I expect to pay a bit more for a superb hamburger. In a nice place with atmosphere, fresh beef, toasted bun, exotic condiments, thick bacon, imported cheese........a gourmet burger. Worth the $10-$15 bucks. Makes that Guinness taste really good. There are also burgers that sell for $0.79. Stale bun with a pickle chip, a dollop of ketchup, a quarter sized piece of overcooked dried beef.......

If teachers were a dinner, we expect them to be "gourmet." Our politicians want to pay $0.79.......we entrust the most valuable element of society to them, we dump all kinds of responsibility on them, and then we treat them like they are second class citizens. It's time we recognize their importance to us, to our country, and to our future.

Last time I tried giving teaching a second and final chance, the ponytail guy was the science teacher. He always had on well worn blue jeans and a matching denim shirt.
