As a left-leaning Seattleite I'm very disappointed with the way Seattle has capitulated to the anti-growth faction. I'm all for smart regulation but we seem to be broadcasting a message to the world that say "go make your money elsewhere, we don't want it". Our city council is dysfunctional and populated by immature grandstanders, and the candidates are even worse. We have been going farther and farther to the left every election only to see our problems get worse. The only thing that is keeping Seattle's economy strong is the momentum of the tech industry, despite attempts to undermine it.

Hats off to Oklahoma City, you deserve it.

And from one who LOVES most all things Seattle... I think your one lucky person to live there. I do see however where your coming from with where Seattle is going politically. I tend to be more liberal myself but not as extreme as a growing number of folks are out your way. I think the 15 dollar/hour minimum wage increase is an awful idea as it will only create hyper inflation over the next few years. Your restaurants are the first to feel that pinch and I've read that many may close because they simply can't afford to stay open at those wages. Still, even though taxes are higher.. you get what you pay for but there has to be a balance to where you set your limits yet still invite businesses to flourish without being taxed into oblivion, something I'm not sure the uber left can comprehend.
