The story referred to could have added that the latest population estimate for Stillwater is at 48,406, still one of the fastest growing towns in the state.

Stillwater is a great town, it doesn't surprise me at all.

I knew the university so well, but have no memory of the town. Commuting from Perry left no time for anything else.

Here's a look at the latest developments in Stillwater beginning with Academy Sports & Outdoors:

The new Comfort Inn nearing completion, located just off N. Perkins Rd. Surely a delightful development for the eating establishments in the area. Palomino's Mexican Restaurant is just across the street. The restaurant is infamous for having a large round painting mounted in the middle of the ceiling, portraying two fighting roosters facing each other.

Mattress Firm is located on N. Perkins Rd. next to Buffalo Wild Wings

It was formerly a drug store before being bought by Walgreen's, now remodeled into two restaurants.

Mojoe's Bar and Bowling. Remodeled from Joseppi's Italian Kitchen. Both owned by Stan Clark of Eskimo Joe's. Maybe the Italian Garden and DeVinci's in Stillwater was giving Stan too much Italian competition.

Not all of it yet ready for prime time is Prime Place, located between OSU and Main St. It has a multi-level parking garage not in view. Blocks away in the neighborhood of 4th and Hester St., another mid level apartment project may be in the planning stage, since the area was recently rezoned to allow structures up to 100 ft. in height.
