Just curious as to how many of you carry and what is the gun of choice? I kinda traded out most of my handguns and am currently carrying a 22 mag and am wanting to "upgrade". Am looking at getting a SCCY 9mm. they seem like a pretty good piece and Atwoods had them for $230 a few weeks ago.

I am a real estate appraiser and frequently go to abandoned or repoed houses. In 30 years I've needed one a few times so I try not to leave home without it. I've encountered homesteaders, homeless derelicts, meth labs, and vandals. I don't want to carry something fancy or high dollar. If I have to use it, I don't want a ceracoated kimber 1911 sitting in a evidence locker for four or five years. But I do want something that will stop a twatwaffle in his tracks.

So anyway, folks, what is your weapon of choice?

You go, Howest! You can be GP's back up at work. I don't carry and I am not sure I should to be honest.

If your looking at the SCCY 9mm, you might want to check out the Kel-Tec line. Their P11, 9mm is about the same price but I think a better gun. I've had mine for about 20 years now and have never had a problem of any sort. It is my carry gun with an IWB Aleingear Tuck 2.0 and is very comfortable even in hot weather. It is a DAO so you can safely carry a round in the chamber, and it holds 11 rounds. I carry Speer Gold Dot 115 gr. HP's in mine.

My husband and I both have our Concealed Carry Permits. He carries a Glock 26 9mm 10 shot. There is a Glock the same size that is a 40 caliber but holds a few less bullets, either 6 or 8, if I remember correctly.

I carry a Kel Tec 380. He calls it my "Get Off Me" gun. LOL I am currently looking for a Glock 380, too.

We also own a Kimber Ultra Carry2 45 caliber and a 357 Caliber Smith and Wesson. We really like going to the gun range and using these 2 guns. We don't conceal carry them but do take them with us on trips. We have a six-shooter single action, and we bought it just because we think it's a cool gun. We also have a cheesy 22 that we picked up from a relative to shoot snakes and whatever.

I loved the glock 9 mm. That is the only firearm I have been trained to use. But I am in the market for a different hangun.

We have a couple of shotguns and a .22 rifle for varmints. We live in the country. Now that our german shepherd died, the coons, possums, and armadillos think our yard is their buffet.

In your situation I'd opt for a revolver, and Open-Carry. If a hobo or tweeker saw you walking up with a Hogleg strapped on your hip, he'd hit the back door in a New York minute.

Or he would shoot first ending the fight

I don't carry a weapon other than a Dennis the Menace type slingshot in my car for plinking while hiking.

That aside, I do have a revolver in my house. For your needs, I would recommend a .38 calibre snub nosed revolver. It is simple, reliable and would deter or if needed, stop any threat that you would likely face.

In addition, a bobbed hammer can be added to make it less likely to snag on clothing. I am not a "gun guy", so I would probably forgo it, unless it was already included. Also, they are available in chrome or natural metal, making it more likely that a threat will quickly see the weapon if drawn and back off before you need to use it.
