Actually, yes. But it just says 'god'. It isn't necessarily applied to any faith. I follow wicca but it could just as much apply to my faith for the mother and the god are one single god figure. But that is not proper to those who have no faith and thus it should not be there. It should say in FREEDOM we trust. You are free to trust in whatever 'god' you wish or none.

With this monument its very different. The ten commandments are applied specifically to ONE religion and that religion cannot be enshrined offically on a monument on state property. It is tasit official recognition of that one religion as having officially recognized connections with government.

Sorry, but the christan god is of no connection to me, I do not follow it or do not see its stories as more than mythos. I do not want it to be officially called a state religion. I do not ask anyone to follow mine unless it is in your heart and expect the SAME respect from others *including* the followers of christianity. Love your god, celebrate him/her/it but do not impose him/her/it on anyone who does not choose it.

The monument needs to go and go to some religious place not a place of government.

If you want a monument, make one to ALL beliefs including none, and the priceless value of free choice and will to embrase one or more or none. That is the true 'god' which should be celebrated at a place of government.

In accepting "In God" you are making it okay to say "In Allah" too. Our nation chose not to respect one religion over another after the other had been the norm. These men had wisdom. We should respect it. By saying we don't enshrine christan symbols we are also telling the followers of Allah that we don't wish to be enshrined under their deity either.

Yep, they're taking it down because the Satanists were going to put a monument to Satanism right beside it. So, the Hindus felt all left out, so they wanted their green monkey king monument there, and they said to heck with this, we'll just take the damn thing down.
