Why one family traveled across the country for prostate cancer treatment in Oklahoma City | News OK
To heal a loved one from cancer, all of us would go the extra mile. That’s why so many people from all over the country, and even from across the globe, travel to Oklahoma City with family in tow to receive cancer treatment at
ProCure Proton Therapy Center .
For Martha and Josh Speakman, the journey began in early December back in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Josh’s PSA levels were high and a biopsy was done. Soon after, the family received the news that Josh had prostate cancer.
“The urologist gave us different options,” Martha recalled. “We had a longtime friend from college who had lived in Oklahoma who told us about proton therapy. The urologist said there wasn’t enough evidence, but we really felt strongly about looking into it.”
