Apparently there are plenty of the critters. Yesterday one of my grandsons was driving on a road near Yale and a River Otter was moving along on the side of the road. He didn't know what it was until he told his parents and his dad knew and they looked it up and that's what it was.

I've just read that they are firmly established in the Norman area and SW Oklahoma City and other places in Oklahoma.

I saw a couple of them swimming in a creek in Pushmataha County a couple of years ago. They are well established here and many people have complained about them eating all the fish in their ponds.

I saw I believe was one on Tuesday, 9 February. I could not figure out what it was, it LOOKED like an otter, it ran like one. So glad you posted, because I work on the south border of the Wichita Mountains Refuge, and this was near Post Oak Creek.
