I think its neat that Devon Energy chose to build their new headquarters downtown where as many times corporations will choose to build big campuses in the suburbs of their respective cities. It seems well connected to the Myriad Gardens, Bricktown Canal, the OKC Thunder's Arena and the rest of DT OKC. I haven't been to visit my friends in OKC since 2009 so I have not seen the transformation of downtown in person.

It certainly got my attention while watching basketball games and the cuts to commercials show shots of downtown OKC with the new glistening skyscraper. To an outsider, it feels like OKC is on the right path.

How do OKC'ers feel when they see the new tower? Does it symbolize pride and opportunity for you? Or does it clash with the rest of DT OKC since it so much taller than anything else.

Ooops, I just realized I put this in the Oklahoma State forum and not the OKC forum. Hopefully a mod moves it.

Since I had to move from the city several years ago, I wasn't there when the Devon Tower was built. The tape was enjoyable. Thanks for posting it. I would like to be living there again.

For me, Devon Tower is a beacon for OKC. Initially, it's height took some getting used to, but now I can't imagine the skyline without it, Devon Tower helps define it.

Devon Tower is OKC's iconic skyscraper. It's a little out of scale compared to the rest of the skyline, but hopefully that will change once the local economy picks back up. I rag on OKC a lot, but towers like Devon Tower aren't common in cities this small. It really makes the skyline look as if OKC is a lot larger city than it is, especially when viewed from the north and northeast angles.
