But for the real reason I came on here. So, as you all know by now I'm leaving for Oklahoma Saturday morning. Tomorrow I have school and directly following school I have my last day at Starbucks. (I didn't get fire. I had to quit sooner or later since I'd be going to OSU) So tonight is my only real time to pack. I will be the first to say that I am a horrible packer. I never know what to bring. Either I over pack and have a lot of stuff to lug around or I under pack and forget important things. So my question is: other then the regular (clothing, toiletries, computer, etc) is there anything that I should bring going to Oklahoma for 5 days?

Thanks and see you all soon! :-D

Casey
Have a great trip Casey. I thought about you when reading about the drug activity at San Diego State. I think you are making the right choice!

Bring sunscreen.

We were rejected by the midwestern states. We were the Indian Nations. When they finally decided to make us a state, they included "No Man's Land" as part of the lands the Five Civilized Tribes wanted to call the State of Sequoya.

We are NOT southern, midwestern, eastern, western or any derivative of any of those. We are Oklahoma, a combination of the Indian Nations and No Man's Land, and those clowns who make up the maps can draw all they want......but until they come experience us, they don't know squat.
Excellent point, GP. Even by the usual regional definitions I think it gets iffy to try and categorize Oklahoma, because it's in an area where the Southeast, the Southwest, and the Plains converge, which gives it elements of all three cultures and landscapes, sometimes overlapping. Then this is further complicated by disagreement among many people about whether the Plains are part of the Midwest or form there own region, distinct from the Midwest. Add GP's insight to all of this, and maybe you really have to conclude that Oklahoma is its own unique place, not completely part of any one region.

You're probably right...
I've had this discussion recently...

Too bad though...
The next time someone called me "Yankee" I had
planned to say "Maybe so, but we kicked your *****".
Now you've taken all my fun away.

Be careful with that kind of talk....some one might stand up and quietly say "Why don't you show me how you did it?"

Then you need to factor in that OK has 11 (12) ecoregions... we are pretty unique.

That IS wonderful news. It has been a long time, so it will take awhile. Keep takin' those baby-steps forward and pretty soon it will be like it always should have been. (Still praying that happens quickly for you! )
