Hi. I am from Connecticut and last week I was in eastern Oklahoma. I went to Dripping Springs (Natural Falls) and thought it was nice. Then I went down to Poteau, had lunch and then went to the Ouchita National Forest area and drove along the byway. I LOVED it! It was just so beautiful and relaxing. I think OK scenery is very underrated.

A few years ago, I also drove down I-35 through OKC and I thought the open spaces were beautiful, and the southern part of the state was nice, too.

I agree! I was born and raised here. I've traveled all over and while there are certainly places that are more scenic, I think Oklahoma is gorgeous. Glad you enjoyed your time here.

How did you handle the heat??

We like to take a drive in the fall. Eastern Oklahoma is nice. I grew up on the western side and am partial to the plains.

I like to stay inside and be buck naked! Just kidding. Today is definitely a stay-inside day.

I visited recently from Pittsburgh PA. I have friends in Noble who took me all over the place. We were horseback riding at Lake Thunderbird one day, climbing mountains at the Wichita Mountain national wildlife reserve, swimming in the Sulphur spring at Chickasaw national recreation area and then finishing with an amazing sunset trail ride in the canyon at Roman Nose state park.

All of my friends who saw the many pictures I took on FB said they never knew Oklahoma looked like that. It was a spectacular vacation.

I will say that while beautiful, the Botanical Garden in OKC is maybe not the best place to visit in the summer. Even the locals were finding it uncomfortably hot inside of that place.

Yeah! Check out these photos I took of Ouchita National Forest and Dripping Springs (Natural Falls)! The heat was intense, but I just deal with it! I took all these pics with my phone (Motorola Droid Turbo)!!

Wow, those are beautiful pics!

We also went to the Botanical Gardens one time and it was steamy! But the plants love it!

Yes. We used to take the Talihina drive every fall. It's beautiful. Doesn't "look" like Oklahoma at all.
