Hi everyone-my boyfriend is moving to Enid to work for Siemens on the wind farm and he is having a terrible time finding a place to rent. Anyone have any suggestions on where to look or are there just so few rentals there? He is moving from Virginia and this is a big change so any help would be appreciated 😊

His best bet is to look outside of Enid.

Look up Enid on a map. THere is not much there. I would talk to coworkers, managers, the guy at the gas station, just about everyone. Discuss long term rental at an extended stay hotel which will get him out of some of the taxes applied to hotel guests. Local realtors are familiar with the market. Local Chamber of Commerce.
Google brings up several properties.

Stillwater has places for rent, though 1 bedroom places, if that is what is preferred, don't appear abundant: stillwater apartments / housing rentals - craigslist

But might as well check out if anything is available in Perry, since it would be closer to work. Threestep's advice, though, sounds good as to what to do for now.

Thanks for the input. So far he has yet to find anything so the search is still on. He actually has to work in Medford so living in Stillwater is too far for his employers requirements. Fingers crossed that he will find something soon.

Have you tried sublet.com? Craigslist has several houses listed recently. 7 of 9 apartment complexes in Enid show current openings. What is he looking for?

He has a 25lb Boston Terrier so lots of them do not allow pets. He really just wants a clean decent place to live that is in a safe area. We looked at a couple while we were there and they were completely run down and in terrible shape.

Get a used travel trailer, take a long trip after his assignment is over, then sell it. Where do his coworkers live?

For real? Enid is a booming town. It has Vance Air Force base, the largest fertilizer plant in the country, several other companies and the oil/gas industry.
