Does anyone know if there are any organic grocery stores in OK? (doesn't matter where - I'd be willing to drive across the State) Or grocery stores that offer some organic foods, especially produce? Or any farms which sell their own products?

Also: I heard that wherever crops are, there's heavy water and air pollution due to fertilizers and chemicals used in farming - does anyone know anything about it being a problem in OK?

thanks for whatever input you may have - and I'd love to hear from anyone who lives in Enid and could share their views / info about it!

Reasor's Grocery Store chain carry some veggies, diary, and bread products that are organic. This store is truly wonderful. There are also organic grocery stores in various towns. Tahlequah has one and Muskogee has more than one, and Ft. Smith, AR has some. I am sure that they are in most larger towns. I have yet to find out if our fruit stand has organic.

Dotsons natural foods, NOrman ok
and all the farmers markets in each county sell natural organic foods plus we have tons of folks selling organic produce out of the back of their trucks all summer long....
everywhere...we are a farming community.....

Have you tried to grow your own??
Its easy to grow peppers, tomatos, squash of all kinds, melons, and other sandy soil loving plants in Oklahoma.
Carefree and cheap, dont need much soil, raised beds or potted.
Cabbage and lettuce dont grow well.
Certain peaches dont do well either but some do great.
Also Newalla, Ok has berries etc you can buy by the bushel for dirt cheap.

thank you, bahamaexplorers, for the info - I've never tried my hand at growing anything other than the occasional plant of sage or rosemary - but I may give it a try.

There are many Farmers Markets in OKC also in Norman and Edmond. The Downtown OKC market has a lot of character, having been at the same location for so long.
