I've not been to the Mercantile, but I have been to Pawhuska many times. It's a nice old town. Not very big. There are some shops, I wouldn't say "a lot". It's also not as isolated as the show makes it out to be. Pawhuska is only just about an hour drive from downtown Tulsa. It is in a very pretty area. Lots of small rolling hills with grass and small trees, you kind of feel like you are on top of the world out there.

I want to go there so badly! My SIL was doing a contract job in Tulsa and I was going to fly out to visit and we were going to go, but she got laid off

Hi Cindy, It is me, your aunt. I hope someone here can answer your question, but when we go there we can check out other areas as well. I know, my name is not the same, but I am incognito.

I doubt the Drummonds want tourists invade their ranch.

People who are from Pawhuska just call it Osage County. Neat place.

I miss the brick-paved roads in the main area downtown.

They now give Lodge tours where tourists can meet the family on their property.

Actually, the people who live there call it "The Osage".
