I will be working in Ardmore temporarily (less than 12 months) while keeping my home in OKC. Looking for an inexpensive place to live during the week in an area where I don't have to worry about someone braking into my vehicle, living place or getting shot at.

Recommendations of areas/streets to STAY AWAY from would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

The area east of Main St. generally is considered higher crime. I've never had any problems there though.

How inexpensive are we talking about?

You can try highland park apts or stone creek apts. are decent. highland park is cheaper but its just off of a really decent neighborhood. no crime that i have ever heard of.

for renting homes I would stay west of F st and Harris st. (they almost connect but generally run north south). There are some decent places east of this line up north and a couple shady spots west of it down south but its a good general idea.

I haven't heard of any rash of cars getting broken into and the only shootings I have heard of revolve around drugs and happen well east of that line I mentioned above.
