We are looking into moving our family of 5 to southeast Oklahoma. McCurtain County, specifically, looks beautiful and seems to meet most of our criteria. I'm wondering about special needs resources, though. We have two kids on the Autism Spectrum and would like to be near a good OT, pediatric therapist, and biofeedback practitioner. Can anyone advise on this? Thanks!

RUN!!! If you need autism services in Oklahoma as well as all the other stuff, you'll need to be in either Canadian (OKC) or Tulsa Counties. McCurtain has some nice scenery but it doesn't have "them fancy things" you spoke of needing. Even Paris, TX does not have the "biofeedback practitioner" (not sure what that is but ok) and SW Arkansas is much the same.

I agree. More people have been moving out of McCurtain County, not moving to it. Have you actually driven through the town of Idabel in McCurtain County? That town certainly isn't a pretty sight. I had no earthly idea towns in Oklahoma could look so run down until I drove through there. Much of southeast Oklahoma is like that.
