Anything going on in Waynoka? I used to visit relatives there a long time ago. I remember main street , the train depot, the city pool, the airport and the sand dunes south of town. There was a Conoco station in town who’s owner had a home built dune buggy that would take us for rides on the dunes if he could get away from his station. This was in the 50's and 60's. I see the “dunes” is now a state park.
Was wondering if the town is growing and generally how it is doing.

I'd think very little has changed in Waynoka. As you said Dunes are a state park and attract a lot of four wheelers and stuff. Probably the only other thing worth noting is that they have a really popular destination German restaurant there called Café Bonhoff. It is said to be one of the better ones in Oklahoma.

Café Bahnhof (means "Train Station" auf Deutsch), was there last year. Probably the best German place in the state; I spent a lot of time in Germany and their menu is authentic. Reservations only, no walk-ins.

Also, The Waynoka Historical Society is in the old Santa Fe Railroad Station and Harvey House. A lot of early 1900s history, Waynoka was the end point for Transcontinental Air Transport which was the precursor to TWA. Passengers would fly to Waynoka and take the rails westward.

While it is true according to the German and Austrian law (yes, they have a law for that, similar to the beer Reinheitsgebot) that a Wiener Schnitzel be a veal cutlet, Wiener Schnitzel Art (or vom Schwein) is an acceptable substitute. Yes, not the truest of schnitzels but served everywhere in Germany as a cheaper variant. Jägerschnitzel was traditionally venison or pork, the latter the typical meat now. Rahmschnitzel (rahm = cream) is a pork cutlet (or veal/venison/turkey[!]) covered in cream sauce with cracked pepper... in OK and TX it was easier to make with beef and is better known as chicken fried steak... damn, now I'm hungry.

Calling it Wiener Schnitzel Art at Café Bahnhof would probably confuse everyone except those speak German.
