LOL! Take your time...I'm still trying to find stuff I KNOW I packed before we left and we've been here 4 years!

Have a safe trip and keep an eye on the weather... if you see any funny looking dark clouds that seem to be touching the ground, pull into the nearest Stuckey's and wait till it passes.

Here is a shot of our current weather...

My family made the OK/CA trip about 2 dozen times in my life. We used to take the old Route 66 before any of us knew it was famous. Lots and lots of memories there.

When I was three, I though OK was on the moon because in my mind, the trip was so far. We never stayed in motels, and my dad always kept a large empty Folgers can in the back seat for me and brother to pee in. My dad wouldn't stop unless he HAD to.

Check the Flagstaff weather before you leave, because they WILL close the hwy if it is snowed in. And then you will be taking the southern route.

I have driven straight through once, made it in 19 hours. We left OK at 4am and got to L.A at 9 pm that night. When we got there, my mom called my grandma and said, THEY MADE IT! And my grandma said who made it? She didn't even know we had left! She thought we were just out hunting or something.

It will be a fun trip. Good luck, and never cross death valley without water. That used to be the biggest advice.
