My Christian great grandparents were early day settlers to north central Oklahoma. I think they just wanted to come farm on cheap land and didn't get involved in politics.

The collective farm, the commune sort of propagated in Oklahoma the musical. Then you gave Woodie Guthrie grassroots “this land is your land...this land is my land” that’s Okemah

2) Your ancestors were sympathetic to a religious form of socialism. Your organic produce fills the mam and paps of Dallas Tx farm to table restaurants...like “Whiskey Cake” in penn sq mall OK City, it’s progressive healthy fresh from the soil

3) Your poorer farmers and native people have commonality with the prairie people In Canada and they have a rural NDP party it’s Liberal non-urban political leanings. Your 1930s New Deal helped impoverished family farms with subsidies, a progressive endeavor

4) you’ve heard of the red dirt band Cross Canadian Ragweed they are Oklahoman and share same initials as long-Haired hippie Creedence Clearwater Revival

So with a certain targeted group of Oklahomans could there be any kind of shout out of the 7% of true born and bred middle aged Oklahomans who consider support for a future Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez presidency?

Hey, trust me, just as with the Repubs, I'm not at all impressed with anything the Dems have done for quite a while now.

They lost me when they went lock step all in on murdering babies, for profit and votes, no less. At least here in Oklahoma we still have some Dems from time to time who stand for ProLife initiatives.

Bass&Catfish you pulled me into this discussion because I value you as a straight shooter and a man of intelligence. If the Republicans are indeed Anti-Abortion like they say they are , why haven't they done anything about legalized abortions ? Republicans have Been in control of all three branches of government so many times , why is Abortion Still Standing Established Law?

Ban all abortion in Oklahoma when it becomes possible to do so, and you make Oklahoma an export state of abortion. Is this how you would like to be ProAbortion?

If people are serious about doing something about abortion, they will approach it by trying to nip it before it's even in the bud by the government strongly encouraging birth control and self control when a baby isn't desired. This can start mandatory in junior high school with parental opt out.

Look at what happened to Ireland after it banned abortion. Giving the unborn equal rights or greater to pregnant women can result in death. Ireland became an exporter of abortion by the thousands every year. As a result, years later in 2018 that country voted by a landslide to legalize abortion. But it doesn't mean abortion allowed any time. Since Jan. 1 abortion in Ireland can be provided on demand up to the 12th week of a pregnancy. When later than that, only in cases of fatal foetal abnormality or where the physical or mental health of the mother is in danger. In the future, if Roe v. Wade is overturned, I hope Oklahoma and other states will take seriously what happened in Ireland.

Banning abortion nationwide requires a U. S. Constitutional Amendment. Republicans would find it hard to get a simple majority, much less the 2/3 majority required in Congress to start that process. As long as it seems to work with Republicans to get votes by saying they want abortion banned, they will continue to campaign that way. But interesting how Republican Gary Fisher, who wants all abortion banned, only came in 4th place in the Republican primary for Oklahoma governor last June.

You make a great point. I wish I knew the answer. Dems clearly make a lot of money and garner votes off of promoting pro-abortion initiatives. Repubs clearly make a lot of money and garner votes off of standing against infanticide. Could it be that both sides truly want the status quo? Most likely, which is shameful. The old government machine keeps going, led by evil men (and many evil women).

And the sheeple keep going for it. Sad reality. The most embarrassing and disappointing part of America is our government, both Repubs and Dems alike. I detest their plastic posing. How is it possible that each member of Congress continues to draw a paycheck during the shutdown? Bunch of crooks.

Then how shall we raise your taxes to pay to build new prisons to put people in who have been thieving to support their hard drug habits?
