I agree Freedom Penguin. I am currently designing a manufacturing machine, and it is a lot of work. It is also quite expensive to build. I am using knowledge that I have acquired over years of hard work. And risking my own hard earned money. If the business works, why would I want to share the gains with others? If I knew that I had to, I would not undertake the project. This will occur on a grand scale, productive people will not invest in or invent new business. The economy will certainly shrink.

Socialism does not work.

I'll go further with it- socialists are either: stupid, or crooked. Always lazy.

If she supports a woman's right to choose, LGBTQ equality, separation of church and state, and any form of gun control, she doesn't stand a chance in Oklahoma today, period. It doesn't matter what her positions or qualifications are in other areas. Those are the issues that most people here care most about.

Nip the bud off the democrats and welfare programs, 100% eliminate birth citizenship, heavily fine countries and deport / charge the nations for every deportation. If an illegal makes a good living here, their home, cars etc, once caught. Take everything and auction it off to pay towards the illegal debt we've accrued. No more being nice, I am completely against everything the democrats stand for. 100%!!
So do you want totally privatized government, so you would only pay for services if and when you want? Would you like to pay to have your day in court, if needed? If you don't owe anybody without your consent, then what do you think you owe government, if anything?

The main reason why Democrats lost Oklahoma is because Democrats stood for welfare and more of it. Many Oklahomans regard people who are on welfare as being nothing but the utter scum of the earth.

Public school is socialism. Did you get your first education from there? If it did you some good, why be opposed to it? Or do you feel only kids should be schooled, who have parents with enough money to send them to private schools? If they don't, then they shouldn't be stupid enough to have kids?

From the Great Depression, we learned that capitalism can't be depended upon to work, either. The suffering from it led to a lot of disorder in the streets.

I love how these right wing guys have already come with their typical smack. LOL.

But nobody is going to support a NY democrat out here to any great degree. The inherent feeling in places like Oklahoma is that democrats are not going to support programs that will be economically beneficial to rural states. People here feel like we struggle bad enough economically as it is and that it would be worse under a liberal democrat. And quite frankly, the democrats don't demonstrate anything different

Throw in all the social issues on top of that and support for someone like here is going to be limited to a pretty limited group of liberal types who are focused on part social issues or are on a lot of government programs.

The idea that the Oklahoma roots in socialism may still hold any sway went away when the Roosevelt depression era people finally died off. Almost all their kin are republicans or at least vote republican nowadays.

I think the collectivist mindset is still alive and well, it's just now led by the Christian Right instead of the left-wing populist movements as it was early in this state's history. Oklahoma has always been a collectivist, authoritarian state regardless of which party was dominant. Individualism and diversity of thought aren't welcome here.

I realize this is just another pot shot at Oklahoma but it is ironic because a middle aged Christian right winger in Oklahoma might be just three generations removed from a statehood era socialist great grandfather.
