Just to clarify, my current job is not tied to a military installation. I would be living in/near Norman.

It doesn't seem like there is a clear answer. The move would mean about a 12K jump in salary for me.

It would be difficult for me to stay away from fresh fruits and veggies. I'd say at least half my grocery cart is filled with these on any shopping trip.

When you say insurance costs, you mean property (home) due to weather and quakes, correct?

Anything else I should know?

If you are going to live in Norman, own a home that is worth much, it's a wash. If your home isn't worth a lot you are are going to be behind. I don't think the difference in home insurance is really worth worrying about.

If you live in Norman don't worry about the fresh fruits and veggies thing. They have a "Sprouts" in Norman which specializes in fresh produce.

And, Norman has a pretty robust farmers market from April through October where you can get all the fresh from the farm produce you want.

Could you explain what you mean in the text that I bolded? Not sure I understand your overall point.

Sprouts is a hit or miss depending on the store manager. The one in Yukon was great when it opened. I walked out last week.

No Kroger, MarketPlace, Albertson's, HEB, limited Asian markets. Sam's, WalMart, Aldi, Sprouts, Homeland and UpTown and a Whole Foods in OKC are about it. Sprouts and Aldi on May are pretty new and still clean.

Have not seen one in OKC area. Costco is supposed to come to OKC.
