So I'm looking at getting a car. I've reached out to a few dealers. I go on the dealer's website, find a car I like, then submit a request for more info. I either get no response at all, or a very lackluster response. In my experience from California, I'd have people swarming me. Calling me, emailing me. But here they don't seem to give a $hit. What's the deal?

Are car dealers more honest? Or is this a sales tactic?

I've never had that issue. I have dealers that still email years after I have bought a car.

What kind of car dealers are you contacting?

The Lexus and Audi dealerships in Tulsa are owned by the same company. My in-laws deal with both dealerships and like them a lot. My car's dealership is Jackie Cooper (Infinity) and they are very good, but they do not haggle on price. The only high end dealer in Tulsa I hear bad things about is BMW.

Had no problem when SO had a trade in and a vehicle in mind about 30 days after we moved to OK. It was ready to go. All we had to was sign contract and release of trade in.

What do you mean they do not haggle? Do you mean you cannot negotiate down the price?

Not sure what you mean. Yeah I’m sure I can go into a dealership and buy a car no problem the point is I’m used to car dealers swarming me when I submit a form on the website and that puts me in control and since they aren’t doing that it takes away my negotiating power

Do you know anything about buying a car in today's world?

How many of these online applications and inquiries do you think a decent dealer ship gets per day and how many turn into sales?
