Here I am, thinking things are going to settle down and we can have the good lazy days of summer, go to blue hole, fish a little.......but no. We have to have all this kind of thing happening:

Verizon Business, part of Verizon Communications, has opened a new contact center in Tulsa...............for up to 400 support reps, more than doubles Verizon Business’s help desk operations capacity.

Why do they have to keep this stuff up? Growth is not always all that good. Growth can inhibit lifestyle......but at least it is good to know that there are jobs for Christmas and birthdays. And it makes it nice to know that you can buy local on nice things like

After 45 elite international wine judges tasted 2,350 wines from 500 wineries, there were only a few wines to receive the coveted Double Gold award at the recent Finger Lakes International Wine Competition in New York. It was Oklahoma’s Summerside Vineyards and Winery of Vinita who experienced such a win, when their Cream Sherry topped the list.

Well, on the bright side~the economy in OK hasn't fallen flat on it's face like it has in many areas of the country.

My own state also have a very low unemployment rate, but we keep people at bay with our cold winters. No seriously, we welcome new faces up here and I think you do the same.

Don't worry GP, people may flock to OK, but won't stay. It will be too spooky for them with giant bugs, tornadoes, lightening storms, wind that tears off car doors if left open too long, lines at Walmart looking like the Great Depression, under funded schools, infestation of mosquitoes, snakes everywhere, rude people, worst BBQ in the United States, inadequate housing, and my favorite tax on groceries. Also, these minimum wage jobs won't offset gas when it hits $5/ga this summer.

To all those seeking salvation in OK, don't go there, it's still a dust bowl. Go to California or Florida. There's sunshine, beaches, Disney, mountains, and little weather to worry about. You'll love it, there's plenty for the whole family to enjoy. Stay away from tornado alley, it's not for you.

More out of staters are not only moving to Oklahoma but everywhere else from somewhere else. I've read so many threads for the other states and it seems like it drives all locals crazy or annoyed. Their all sayin the same thing like " everyones moving here", "outsiders move here and complain they hate the gravel roads", "those damn Californians are sky rocketing the real estate", yada yada yada. Everybody thinks their state is a hidden jewel.

Therein lies the difference... "Everybody" else thinks their State is a jewel...

"Rude people"????, you obviously have never been to this great state have you??!!! Let's see, California, well better learn spanish cause you'll be a minority there. You won't be able to afford to buy a home, unless you make at least $500K/year. No tornado's but plenty of ground opening house destroying earth quakes! Beaches?? Well Oklahoma has more miles of shoreline than any other state, including Mexifornia!

Florida, if you like humidity this is your place, and soon you will be a minority in this state too! Good luck finding a home you can afford in this state too! Don't get me started on all those hurricanes that hit each year, give me tornado's any day of the week!
